Creating Heaven on Earth

I’ve recently come to a deeper understanding—perhaps truly felt it for the first time—of the concept of Heaven on Earth.
 

In the Gnostic tradition, the Kingdom of Heaven isn’t something far away in the sky or reserved for the future. It is here, now—within you and all around you—waiting to be awakened.
 

What keeps us from experiencing it is agnosis, or ignorance. What reveals it is gnosis, direct knowing—the awakening to the divine spark within. With that awakening, you realize Heaven is not a place you go later, but a dimension of awareness you can embody right here in this life.
 

I find this idea so hopeful and empowering. Can we really create our own Heaven on Earth? I believe we can—and here’s how I see we make that shift.
 

It begins with a choice.
More specifically, the choice to live in love.
 

Here's what I mean. When you choose love—in what you do, in what you think, and in what you say—you begin to see through loving eyes. And when you see through loving eyes, the world around you shines differently. You notice beauty everywhere. You feel love everywhere.
 

This has been my experience. Since I decided five years ago to choose love instead of fear and to notice what brings me joy instead of focusing on what upsets me, I have been experiencing Heaven on Earth. Love and joy. Isn’t that what Heaven is? 

For me, Heaven is love made visible, love made real, joy experienced daily and throughout the day.
 

And the beautiful truth is this: your Heaven may look different from mine. It is still rooted in love and joy. Your Heaven will be a reflection of what you love most—what brings you joy, lights you up, and makes your soul sing.
 

This week, I invite you to invest some time reflecting on what brings you joy. One of my favourite practices is keeping a Joy Journal. At the end of each day, I jot down the moments—big or small—that sparked joy for me.
 

It might be the sound of laughter, a kind word, or the colours of the sunset. Over time, this practice helps you recognize the joy that is already present in your life. And when you notice joy, you naturally create more of it.
 

And isn’t that another way of creating Heaven on Earth?
 

Choose love. Choose joy. And in doing so, you create your own Heaven on Earth.
