Embracing the Whispers of Change

Have you ever heard that quiet voice nudging you toward something bigger—urging you to take a bold step in a new direction?

How did you respond?

Are you someone who immediately moves into action, mapping out plans to bring a new vision to life? Or do you find yourself hesitating, questioning whether you're truly capable, wondering if you could really do that thing?

Doubt often shows up when we're standing at the edge of something new—especially when the possibility feels big, bold, or unfamiliar. It's easy to shy away from those inner whispers that speak of change. You might even hear yourself asking, “Who am I to do that?”

But what if you gently reframed the question?

Instead of listing all the reasons why you shouldn't follow a new path, what if you asked, “Who am I not to do that?”

A friend once shared an insight about these whispers that has stayed with me ever since. She said, “What you're hearing is the echo of all the people who are waiting for you to make a difference.”

I find that idea deeply inspiring. There are people out there who need you—people who need your voice, your stories, your way of seeing the world. Each of us carries something unique that only we can offer.

When I first began hearing the whispers of my own soul—calling me to bring people into nature, to help them slow down, become present, and reconnect with their inner wisdom—I pushed the idea away. I resisted it for nearly a year, until the whispers grew too persistent to ignore.

I didn't say yes right away. What I did instead was get curious.

I began asking myself what it might look like to bring people into nature and to teach presence and inner listening. That question set me on a journey—one that is still unfolding in the most beautiful and unexpected ways. The retreats I offer, the Camino walk I lead, the podcast I host, the book I wrote, and the coaching I do are all part of that unfolding.

I'm deeply grateful that I finally listened.

Embracing the change that followed transformed my life in ways I couldn't have imagined. Not only do I feel a strong sense of purpose, but I also experience genuine joy. That's what can happen when we slow down, become present, and find the courage to listen to the whispers of the soul.

If you're finding it hard to quiet your mind, or you're hearing something within you but aren't sure what to do with it—if fear, uncertainty, or self-doubt feel louder than your inner knowing—please know you don't have to navigate that alone. Sometimes a simple conversation can bring surprising clarity.

And whether or not our paths ever cross in that way, I invite you not to dismiss those quiet nudges. Start by getting curious. Ask yourself, “What might be possible if I gave myself permission to explore this?”

You never know where listening might lead.

With love and gratitude,
Anita
