The Best is Yet to Come

Do you ever find yourself wondering if your best days are behind you?

Ten years ago, I caught myself spiralling into that exact thought.

In 2014, after returning from a magical year of living in France, I couldn’t help but feel a little... flat. Life just didn’t feel as exciting or as vibrant anymore. I wondered, Had the best already happened?

That question haunted me for several months—until I picked up a book that changed the trajectory of my life (again).

I had read Deepak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success before, but as it often goes with timeless wisdom, I needed to come back to it. This time, the Law of Karma (cause and effect) hit me differently.

What stood out wasn’t just that our actions create effects—but that our thoughts do too.

It was a wake-up call. I realized that my quiet, repetitive thought of “the best is behind me” was shaping my current experience. It was dulling my excitement for life, casting a shadow of sadness that I was unconsciously living under.

That realization was a turning point.

I decided to change the thought.

I started saying—out loud, and often—“The best is yet to come.”

At first, it felt a little awkward, like I was trying to convince myself of something that didn’t feel quite real yet. But I kept at it.

And slowly, something shifted.

That new belief began to take root, not just in my mind, but in my body. I felt it.

My energy changed. Excitement, curiosity, and gratitude started bubbling up again. I was noticing beauty where I hadn’t before, meeting extraordinary people, deepening my relationships, and experiencing life through a brighter, richer lens.

All because I chose a new thought.

But here’s the thing—it wasn’t just the thought. By speaking it aloud, I was putting into motion another of Chopra’s laws: The Law of Intention and Desire. I was planting seeds in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, and the universe began organizing itself around that new intention.

This experience taught me a profound lesson:
Our thoughts are incredibly powerful.
They create the foundation upon which our lives are built.

So let me ask you:
What thoughts are shaping your life today?
Are there beliefs you’re holding onto that might be keeping you small?

If you notice any thoughts that don’t feel supportive or uplifting, know that you have the power to shift them. It doesn’t require anything elaborate—just conscious intention and a willingness to look inward.

Start by choosing a thought that lights you up.
Speak it aloud.
Feel it.
Repeat.

And watch how your world begins to transform.

Because truly, my friend, the best is still yet to come.

With love and deep gratitude,
Anita
