A Small Practice That Opens The Door to More Joy

Sometimes, one small shift in perspective can open the door to an entirely new life.

Last week, I shared how choosing to believe that the best part of my life wasn't behind me, but still ahead, transformed everything. (If you missed it, you can read it here.)

Several of you reached out privately after last week's note to say the message struck a chord and reminded you how deeply our thoughts shape our reality. Thank you. I love hearing from you—please keep sharing your thoughts!

Your comments reminded me that there is another ingredient that makes this shift even more powerful — one that can brighten your days, lift your spirits, and open the door to even more good things.

I'm talking about the simple — and often overlooked — practice of gratitude.

A practice is something you do with intention and regularity. And a meaningful gratitude practice also invites you to be aware of your feelings as you engage in it.

This isn't about rushing through a checklist.

Slow down. Be intentional. Tap into the feeling of gratitude — for me, it's a lot like the feeling of love, an expansion in the heart. That's the energy that creates the shift within you… and ultimately in your reality.

In my practice, gratitude often starts in meditation, but it doesn't end there. It finds me in nature — cycling, gardening, wandering the trails behind my home.

And whenever something lights me up during the day, I give thanks right then. The dog bounding toward me, tail wagging. The cashier who shares a joke. The call with a client that leaves me smiling. That quick nod of gratitude magnifies the good feelings — and, thanks to the law of attraction, draws more of those high-vibe experiences into my life.

A moment for you to reflect…

Where in your day could you slow down enough to truly feel your gratitude, rather than simply name it? And what might shift in your life if you made that your daily practice?

Remember, every moment you pause and connect with gratitude is a step toward a more joyful and inspired life.

With love and deep gratitude,

Anita
